Job Description – Raw Material Data Entry Operator

Position: Raw Material Data Entry OperatorDepartment: Stores & InventoryLocation: Surat, GujaratEmployment Type: Full-timeExperience: 1–3 years; capable freshers may also apply.Qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate preferred.

Job Objective

To maintain accurate and updated records of raw material purchases, inward stock, material consumption, production usage and closing inventory. The candidate will ensure that physical stock and system records are properly matched and discrepancies are reported on time.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Purchase & Inward Entries

- Record all incoming raw materials in the company's inventory software.
- Enter purchase details based on approved purchase orders and invoices.
- Verify received quantities against supplier bills and delivery documents.
- Maintain supplier-wise and item-wise inward records.
- Report quantity or documentation mismatches to the concerned department.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

- Maintain daily raw material stock records.
- Update inward, outward, transfer and return entries.
- Track opening stock, purchases, consumption and closing stock.
- Maintain item-wise and batch-wise stock details wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with the stores team for physical stock verification.
- Identify and report stock shortages, excess quantities and discrepancies.

3. Production Consumption Tracking

- Record raw material issued to production.
- Enter actual material consumption against production batches.
- Maintain records of material returns and unused stock.
- Compare material consumption with production output.
- Highlight unusual consumption or wastage to the concerned supervisor.

4. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare daily stock and material movement reports.
- Maintain purchase bills, delivery challans and supporting documents.
- Update records regularly without unnecessary delays.
- Maintain proper digital and physical filing systems.
- Submit stock summaries and discrepancy reports to management.

Department Coordination

- Coordinate with purchase, accounts, stores and production departments.
- Follow up on pending inward and consumption entries.
- Ensure all material movements are supported by proper documentation.
- Assist during periodic stock audits and physical verification.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and data entry.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of inventory and stock management.
- Ability to maintain systematic records.
- Knowledge of Tally, ERP or inventory management software is an advantage.
- Valuable coordination and communication skills.
- Responsible approach towards data confidentiality and record accuracy.

Salary & Benefits

Salary will be based on experience, computer knowledge and suitability for the role. Starting salary as per the approved hiring budget.
