1. Job Purpose

To manage and monitor Pressure Die Casting (PDC) production activities, ensuring achievement of production targets, product quality, machine efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery while minimizing rejection, downtime, and process losses.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning: Execute daily production plans and achieve targets as per customer requirements.
- Machine Operations: Monitor PDC machine operations, cycle time, and machine performance.
- Process Control: Ensure correct die temperature, metal temperature, injection parameters, holding pressure, and cycle settings as per approved process standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor casting defects such as porosity, cold shuts, blowholes, cracks, flash, and short shots.
- Rejection Control: Analyze rejection and rework data and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Die Maintenance: Coordinate with the tool room and maintenance team for die breakdowns, die repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Manpower Management: Allocate operators and helpers according to the production plan and ensure proper skill development.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure operators follow PPE requirements, machine guarding, interlocks, and applicable safety procedures.
- 5S and Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and workplace organization around PDC machines and material-handling areas.
- Downtime Monitoring: Record machine breakdowns, production losses, and cycle-time deviations and take corrective action.
- Documentation: Maintain production reports, rejection reports, downtime records, process parameter sheets, and shift handover reports.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement Kaizen, cost reduction, productivity improvement,



and waste-reduction activities.
- Coordination: Work with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, PPC, and Stores to ensure smooth production.
- Training: Train operators on standard operating procedures, quality requirements, abnormality reporting, and safe working practices.
- Customer Requirements: Ensure production activities comply with approved control plans, work instructions, and applicable quality-system requirements.

4. Qualification and Experience

- Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in pressure die-casting production, preferably aluminium die casting.
- Technical Knowledge: PDC machine operation, die-casting process parameters, casting defects, die maintenance, quality tools, and production documentation.
- Computer Skills: MS Excel, Word, ERP, and production reporting.
