Job Title Project Research Scientist 1 (Non-Medical) – Speech & Audiology

Job Summary

The Department of ENT at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, is seeking a qualified Project Research Scientist 1 (Non-Medical) for an ICMR-funded research project. The project is titled "Deep Learning for Stroke Dysarthria Diagnosis and Severity with Conversational Agent for Therapy" and is under the leadership of Principal Investigator Dr. Md. Noorain Alam. This position is purely temporary, on a contract basis, and co-terminus with the project duration.Salary & Benefits

- ₹67,200/- per month (₹56,000 + 20% HRA) as per ICMR rules.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct clinical assessments and management of neurogenic dysarthria (stroke, Parkinson's disease, etc.).
- Use acoustic analysis tools such as PRAAT, CSL, and related software for speech evaluation.
- Handle clinical research data collection and organization.
- Assist in research paper writing, documentation, and academic reporting.

Qualifications & Experience Essential Qualifications (Either of the following):

- 1st Class Master's Degree in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology (MASLP) / M.Sc.



Speech-Language Pathology / M.Sc. Audiology.
- OR
- 2nd Class Master's Degree in MASLP / M.Sc. Speech-Language Pathology / M.Sc. Audiology PLUS a Ph.D. in the relevant field.

Desirable Experience & Skills:

- Prior clinical experience evaluating and managing neurogenic dysarthria.
- Familiarity with speech acoustic analysis tools (PRAAT, CSL, etc.).
- Proven experience in clinical research data collection.
- Experience in medical/scientific research paper writing.
- Candidates who are NET/GATE paper qualified will be preferred.

Age Limit

- Maximum 35 years (Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates and departmental candidates as per ICMR rules).
