2. Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled CAD & GIS Expert to support the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for water supply schemes, sewerage networks, irrigation projects, stormwater drainage systems, and other infrastructure projects.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, digitizing survey data, developing GIS maps, managing spatial datasets, and supporting engineering teams with accurate drawings and mapping outputs. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS software, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with civil, hydraulic, process, and other design engineers to ensure timely delivery of DPR documentation.

4. Key Roles and Responsibilities

● Prepare, modify, and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD for DPRs and infrastructure consultancy projects.

● Develop layout plans, alignment drawings, longitudinal sections (L-sections), cross-sections, and typical detail drawings.

● Prepare drawings for water supply networks, sewerage systems, irrigation canals, pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, WTPs, STPs, and drainage infrastructure.





● Draft pipeline layouts, network plans, manhole locations, valve chamber details, hydraulic structures, and other engineering components as per design inputs.

● Prepare site plans, general arrangement drawings, key plans, and other drawings required for DPR submissions.

● Incorporate design revisions and client comments into drawings and maintain proper revision control.

● Check drawings for dimensions, levels, annotations, scales, legends, north arrows, coordinate references, and drawing standards.

● Maintain organized CAD files, drawing registers, title blocks, layers, blocks, and external references.

● Coordinate with engineers to ensure drawings are consistent with design calculations, survey data, and technical specifications.

● Prepare drawings in accordance with project-specific CAD standards and submission requirements

● Prepare and update GIS maps for water supply, sewerage, irrigation, drainage, and other infrastructure projects.

● Digitize existing infrastructure networks, proposed alignments, project boundaries, administrative boundaries, and relevant geographic features.

● Create, edit, and maintain spatial datasets using GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS.

● Import, process, and integrate survey data, GPS coordinates, shapefiles, geodatabases, KML/KMZ files, and CAD drawings.

● Georeference maps and drawings using appropriate coordinate systems and available reference data.

● Prepare thematic maps showing existing infrastructure, proposed works, network coverage, project locations, and service areas.

● Perform basic spatial analysis, including buffer analysis, area calculations, distance measurements, and spatial queries, as required.

● Integrate GIS data with engineering drawings and support hydraulic modelling teams with spatial network information.

● Prepare GIS layouts with legends, scale bars, north arrows, labels, coordinate grids, and other map elements for DPR reports.

● Maintain proper data organization, attribute tables, coordinate reference systems, and metadata where required

5. Educational Qualifications

● Diploma in CAD / Computer-Aided Design or an equivalent relevant technical qualification.





● Certification or practical training in AutoCAD and GIS software will be preferred.

● Additional qualifications or training in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or GIS applications will be an advantage.

6. Experience and Technical Skills

● Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in CAD drafting, GIS mapping, or engineering consultancy assignments.

● Experience preparing engineering drawings and GIS maps for DPRs or infrastructure projects is preferred.

● Practical experience in digitizing infrastructure networks, processing survey data, and preparing location and alignment maps.

● Experience working with water supply, sewerage, irrigation, drainage, or other civil infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

● Familiarity with coordinate systems, georeferencing, and integration of CAD and GIS datasets is desirable.

7. Software and Technical Skills

● CAD: AutoCAD; Civil 3D knowledge will be an advantage.

● GIS: QGIS and/or ArcGIS.

● Data formats: DWG, DXF, SHP, GeoPackage, KML/KMZ, GeoTIFF, and CSV.

● Office tools: MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.

● Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey plans, contour maps, longitudinal sections, and cross-sections.

● Knowledge of coordinate systems, projections, map scales, georeferencing, and spatial data management.

● Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and submission-ready engineering drawings and GIS layouts
