Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA L1 qualified with a minimum of 4+ years of overall experience and 3+ years of relevant Oracle Database Administration experience. The candidate should have working knowledge of RMAN, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle RAC. The role involves database monitoring, backup and recovery, replication monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and ensuring database availability in a 24×7 production support environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor Oracle databases to ensure availability, stability, and optimal performance.
- Perform routine database health checks, monitor alerts, analyze database logs, and troubleshoot basic database issues.
- Monitor RMAN backup and recovery jobs, troubleshoot backup failures, and assist with restore and recovery activities.
- Monitor Oracle GoldenGate replication processes, including Extract, Pump, and Replicat, and troubleshoot replication lag and process failures.
- Monitor Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) environments, check cluster and instance status, and assist with basic cluster-related troubleshooting.
- Perform routine DBA activities, including tablespace monitoring, user management, session monitoring, and archive log monitoring.
- Monitor database space utilization, database alerts, and availability.
- Handle L1 incidents and service requests, perform initial troubleshooting,



and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintain operational documentation, and adhere to change management processes and SLAs.
- Support database operations in a 24×7 environment and work in rotational shifts as required.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Working knowledge of RMAN backup, restore, and recovery.
- Hands-on experience or operational knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate replication and monitoring.
- Knowledge of Oracle RAC, including cluster and instance monitoring.
- Good understanding of SQL and basic database troubleshooting.
- Experience in tablespace management, user administration, alert log analysis, and database monitoring.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands.
- Experience in database production support and incident management.

Educational Qualification – Mandatory

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

- B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science (CS)
- B.Tech/B.E. in Information Technology (IT)
- B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics Engineering
- B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering
- MCA (Master of Computer Applications)

Eligibility Criteria: For B.Tech/B.E. candidates, only CS, IT, Electronics, and Electrical engineering branches are eligible. Candidates from other engineering branches are not eligible.

Work Requirements

- Chennai location – Work From Office (WFO).
- Must be comfortable working in rotational shifts.
- Good analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a production support environment and meet defined SLAs.
