Job Title: Plant HeadExperience: 10–20 YearsIndustry: Engineering / ManufacturingQualification: B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage overall plant operations, including production, quality, maintenance and stores.
- Develop production plans and ensure timely achievement of targets.
- Monitor productivity, machine utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Manage manpower planning, allocation and workforce performance.
- Ensure product quality and reduce rejection and rework.
- Coordinate with purchase, sales, quality and maintenance departments.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor production costs, material consumption and operational expenses.
- Ensure workplace safety and statutory compliance.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for management.
- Handle customer audits and resolve major production-related issues.
- Lead and motivate departmental managers and supervisors.

Required Skills

- Solid leadership and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of CNC, VMC, HMC and other manufacturing processes.
- Production planning and control.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949.
- Manpower and cost management.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- ERP / SAP knowledge preferred.

- Production target achievement.
- Machine utilisation.
- Rejection and rejection-cost reduction.
- On-time delivery.
- Labour productivity.
- Overall operational cost control.

5. Recruitment Recommendation

For a Coimbatore-based engineering manufacturing company, an initial recruitment budget of ₹70,000–₹1,10,000 per month may be considered for a capable Plant Head with 13–15 years of relevant experience. Adjust based on plant size and responsibilities.
