About the RoleWe areseeking a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to focus primarily oncapacity and demand planning across data centers and public cloud.You will combine practical infrastructure experience withanalytical thinking and strong internal customer relationships totranslate future demand into clear capacity models, options, andtimely decisions. This is a hands-on planning role grounded in howproduction infrastructure actually performs.You will proactively engage engineering,application, product, and business teams, and help drive capacityand cost discussions with our existing Fin Ops engineers. Leadershipowns approved forecasts, procurement and investment recommendationsand decisions, and team backlog priorities. You provide theevidence, facilitate the planning cadence, and surface issuesearly. What You'llDoBuild trustedrelationships and proactive demand intake with internal customers,connecting delivery plans, workload changes, and business growth toinfrastructure needs. Develop headroom,runway, growth, and scenario models for data center and publiccloud capacity, documenting assumptions, uncertainty, dependencies,and changes in demand. Validate sizing againstproduction evidence, peak demand, failover conditions, andperformance requirements, rather than treating average utilizationas sufficient. Account for hardware lifecycleand procurement lead times, cloud quotas, regional availability,and provisioning constraints when developing timing and capacityoptions. Run a leadership-sponsored planningcadence, maintain clear analytical inputs, and escalate approvedthreshold crossings for review. Thresholds trigger discussion, notautomatic purchases. Help drive Fin Opsdiscussions with existing Fin Ops engineers: facilitate consumption,demand, capacity, and cost conversations; support consumption andspend forecast scenarios; and follow up with agreed action ownerswithout controlling their backlogs. Partner onrightsizing, reclamation, total cost of ownership, workloadplacement, and commitment analysis. Validate potential savingsagainst resilience and performance needs; Fin Ops specialists retainownership of their practice andprogram. RequirementsFiveor more years of practical infrastructure engineering or operationsexperience, with the technical depth and independent judgmentexpected of a senior engineer. We welcome candidates whoseexperience has been built in infrastructureoperations.Strong communication andcollaboration skills across technical and business teams in aglobal setting. A minimum of four hours of daily overlap withthe US Eastern business day isrequired. TechnicalRequirementsPracticalunderstanding of virtualization, compute, operating systems,storage capacity and performance (IOPS, latency, and throughput),networks, and resilience.



Experience with platforms such as VMwareor Nutanix and Windows or Linux is relevant; specific vendors arenotrequired. Ability to interpretobservability and time-series data, assess public cloud capacityconstraints, and build demand forecasts using Excel, SQL, Python,or equivalent data analysis tools. WorkingExperience with:Sizingproduction workloads and validating capacity assumptions againstreal telemetry, workload behavior, service objectives, andoperational constraints. Translatingcross-team demand into planning inputs and collaborating withglobally distributed teams to resolve gaps, dependencies, andcompeting assumptions. Must-HaveCapabilitiesPersonal,practical infrastructure depth: explain how resources, bottlenecks,failure modes, and workload behavior affect usable capacity. Translate customer demand into defensibleforecasts and scenarios, clearly separating evidence, assumptions,uncertainty, and risks. Facilitateconstructive stakeholder conversations, challenge weak assumptionsrespectfully, and apply sound technical judgment to capacity andcost trade-offs. Collaborate effectively withFin Ops engineers and service owners, making cost-aware optionsunderstandable without compromising performance orresilience. What This RoleIs NOTA generalinfrastructure delivery or ticket-queue role measured primarily bythroughput, or a position intended to backfill on-call coverage.Operational experience informs the work; capacity and demandplanning remain the primary focus. Ownershipof approved forecasts, spend approval, procurement or investmentrecommendations and decisions, architecture, team backlogpriorities, or the Fin Ops program. You develop analytical inputsand options in partnership with the accountable owners. Nice toHavePrior specialist Fin Opsexperience or certification, and experience supporting cloud costoptimization or commitment analysis. These are preferred, notrequired. Automation that improves telemetrycollection, model inputs, or repeatable analysis. Terraform,Ansible, Git, CI/CD, and Kubernetes experience can be useful, butnone is mandatory.
