SmartPlant P&ID; (SPID) Administrator / Designer

7+ years Employment Type: [Full-time / Contract] Role Overview We are seeking an experienced SmartPlant P&ID; (SPID) Administrator / Designer to manage project setup, application administration, customization and engineering data management. The role involves maintaining a reliable SPID workplace, supporting engineering teams and ensuring drawings and deliverables meet project standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Create, configure and maintain sites, plants and as-built projects within SPID.
• Support project setup, database deployment and environment administration.
• Perform database backup, restoration, migration and maintenance activities.
• Manage users, departments, groups, roles and security access permissions.
• Configure and maintain Engineering Manager, Data Dictionary, Options Manager and Format Manager.
• Customize drawing borders, title blocks, templates and project standards.
• Develop, modify and maintain SPID symbols and catalog content.
• Configure and maintain Catalog Manager and Filter Manager.
• Set up and maintain Item Tag DLLs, tagging rules and naming conventions.
• Generate, customize and maintain plant reports using Global Report Utility (GRU).
• Support P&ID; drawing creation, modification and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot check-in, check-out, fetch and drawing lifecycle issues.
• Investigate and resolve drawing errors, design inconsistencies, data integrity issues and database-related problems.
• Validate engineering data and drawings against project specifications,



engineering standards and client requirements.
• Prepare and maintain quality validation, audit and compliance reports.
• Maintain project documentation, configuration records, customization documents and system standards.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, administrators, clients and contractors to ensure timely delivery. Required Skills and Experience
• 7+ years of relevant experience in SPID administration, configuration, customization and design support.
• Hands-on experience with site, plant and project setup, including as-built project administration.
• Practical knowledge of Engineering Manager, Data Dictionary, Options Manager, Format Manager, Catalog Manager and Filter Manager.
• Experience customizing symbols, drawing borders, title blocks and templates.
• Understanding of Item Tag DLLs, tagging rules and naming conventions.
• Working knowledge of databases, SQL fundamentals, backup and restoration, migration and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience generating and customizing reports using GRU.
• Understanding of check-in, check-out, fetch and drawing lifecycle workflows.
• Ability to interpret P&ID; drawings and validate associated engineering data.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining data quality and system integrity. Preferred Experience
• Supporting client-specific SPID configurations and engineering standards.
• Working in multi-user engineering environments with client and contractor collaboration.
• Performing engineering data validation, quality checks and audit documentation.
