Work Location: Hyderabad

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Database Migration Engineer (AWS) to join our team on a contract basis, working in office at the customer's office in Hyderabad or Bangalore. This is a 5-day work week role with regular shift timings.

In this role, you will lead and execute the migration of on-premises relational databases to AWS, leveraging robust database expertise, cloud architecture skills, and AI-accelerated tooling to deliver secure, reliable, and low-downtime migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess on-premises workloads and plan both homogeneous and heterogeneous database migrations.
- Convert schemas, stored procedures, and SQL across multiple database engines.
- Design secure AWS target environments using RDS, Aurora, and EC2, and execute cutover and rollback plans.
- Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and tune performance post-migration.
- Ensure compliance with security standards including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS throughout the migration lifecycle.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity during migrations.

Experience:

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering and cloud migration projects.

Core Database Skills:

- Proficiency with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Db2.
- Strong SQL development and query performance tuning skills.

AWS Migration Tools & Services:

- Hands-on experience with AWS DMS (Database Migration Service) and AWS SCT (Schema Conversion Tool).
- Working knowledge of RDS, Aurora, EC2, and S3.

Cloud Foundations:

- Solid understanding of VPC, IAM, networking, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Security & Compliance:

- Experience with KMS, SSL/TLS encryption, and least-privilege IAM policies.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks: GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS.

Other Requirements:

- Ability to work on-site at the customer's office in Hyderabad or Bangalore, 5 days a week.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
