Role Overview
As a Database Administrator, you will manage the databases that power core banking, payments, and reporting systems, working to strict uptime SLAs and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Availability & Performance
- Administer production databases supporting core banking and payment workloads
- Tune queries, indexes, and configurations to meet uptime and latency SLAs
- Lead root-cause analysis and remediation for database incidents
Controls & Compliance
- Implement access controls, audit logging, and segregation-of-duties standards
- Support regulatory audits and evidence requests on database controls
- Maintain backup, replication,
and disaster-recovery runbooks to meet RPO/RTO targets
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 4 to 9 years as a Database Administrator, ideally in banking or financial services
- Solid hands-on skills with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL in high-availability setups
- Comfort working within change-management and audit-heavy environments
- Clear written and spoken English and a reliable remote-work setup
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to core banking, payments, or capital-markets systems
- Knowledge of database security frameworks and regulatory controls such as SOX or PCI-DSS
- Certification in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or a cloud database platform
