Position details Skylark is hiring an onsite CCTV Support & Monitoring Engineer to provide FMS support at VIT Bhopal University. Field Detail Company: Skylark Client / site: VIT Bhopal University (onsite) Department: Facility Management Services (FMS), ELV / Security Systems Reporting: FMS Site Manager / Skylark Project Lead Employment type: Full-time, onsite (shift or general, as per site roster) Role summary and installed base The engineer maintains, monitors and supports the campus surveillance system at VIT Bhopal: keeping all cameras and recorders running, responding quickly to faults, and supporting the security team with footage retrieval and incident requests.

Key responsibilities
Monitoring and health checks
- Check daily the live status of all cameras and NVRs: camera offline, video loss, blurred or obstructed views, tampering, and incorrect time or date.
- Monitor NVR health: HDD status, recording status, storage utilization, retention days, and device temperature.
- Maintain a daily health report and flag recurring faults. Support and maintenance
- Provide first-level support for camera, cable, PoE switch, power and network faults, and escalate anything unresolved to the back-to-back support vendor.
- Perform preventive maintenance: lens cleaning, connector and housing checks, and alignment and focus correction.
- Replace or reinstall faulty cameras, HDDs, adapters and connectors, and escalate warranty and higher-level issues to the back-to-back support vendor, tracking them to closure.
- Configure and commission replacement or new cameras and NVRs (IP addressing, channel mapping,



recording schedules, motion and event settings).
- Manage user accounts, passwords and access rights on NVRs and VMS, and take configuration backups. Incident and footage support
- Retrieve, review and export footage on request from Security, Administration or authorized management, with proper records.
- Support the security control room during incidents, and preserve evidence securely. Reporting and documentation
- Log all faults in the ticketing or helpdesk system, and track them to closure within the agreed SLAs.
- Maintain an asset register (camera location, IP, NVR mapping, make and model, installation date, AMC or warranty status).
- Provide weekly and monthly uptime, downtime and fault reports to the FMS Site Manager.
- Maintain network and camera layout documentation and spare-parts inventory. Compliance and coordination
- Follow client SOPs, data privacy and confidentiality rules, and site safety practices (working at height, electrical safety).
- Coordinate with the IT, Electrical and Security teams at VIT Bhopal. Qualifications and skills Required qualifications and experience
- Diploma or B.
Tech/BE in Electronics, Electrical, IT or a related field (ITI with strong relevant experience may be considered).
- 2-5 years of experience supporting CCTV and surveillance systems, preferably in a campus, large-facility or FMS setting.
- Hands-on experience with Hikvision and Honeywell IP cameras and NVRs. Technical skills
- Good understanding of IP networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, subnets, PoE switches, and basic Ethernet and fibre troubleshooting.
