Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor to oversee the daily stewarding operations of our restaurant. The candidate will be responsible for managing the stewarding team, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, ensuring proper cleaning procedures and supporting smooth kitchen operations, particularly during high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen stewarding team.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery and workstations.
- Manage dishwashing operations and ensure adequate clean supplies during service.
- Assign duties, prepare staff schedules and monitor team performance.
- Conduct regular hygiene and cleanliness checks across kitchen and stewarding areas.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning materials and raise replenishment requests when required.
- Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal procedures.
- Train new stewards on cleaning protocols, hygiene standards and workplace safety.
- Coordinate with the Head Chef and kitchen management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Identify operational issues and take corrective action when necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor or Senior Steward in a hotel, restaurant or high-volume F&B; establishment.
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety standards.
- Experience managing and supervising a stewarding team.
- Knowledge of dishwashing equipment, cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures.
- Good organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities during busy service hours.
