Role Overview The Design Engineer is responsible for end-to-end electrical design of LV/MV switchboards, control panels (PCC/MCC/APFC/PLC/VFD), and turnkey automation projects at Arrow Electricals India Limited. The role sits within the Design department and independently owns project design from concept through FAT, coordinating closely with Production, Quality, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and own SLDs, GA drawings, control schematics, and wiring diagrams for LV/MV panels using AutoCAD/SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy from enquiry stage through manufacturing.
• Perform busbar sizing, cable size calculations, short-circuit withstand verification, and IP rating selection (IP31 IP65) in line with IEC 61439/61271 standards.
• Generate and manage BOM for each project; coordinate with Procurement on component specifications and ensure design intent is preserved during vendor substitution.
• Act as the single point of contact for design deliverables on independently handled projects — managing timelines, design reviews, and drawing approvals without supervision.
• Liaise with clients during design review meetings, incorporate technical feedback, and manage drawing approval cycles through to sign-off.
• Support the FAT process by providing design clarifications, reviewing test certificates (TCs),



and ensuring panel configurations match approved drawings.
• Review and update designs in response to NCRs or CAPA actions raised by the Quality team, performing RCA where design is identified as the root cause. KEY SKILLS
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); working knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent 3D tool is an advantage.
• Robust command of SLD, GA drawing, control schematic, and wiring diagram preparation for LV/MV switchboards and control panels.
• Busbar and cable sizing calculations; knowledge of IEC 61439 and IEC 61271 standards for LV/MV switchgear and controlgear assemblies.
• Ability to independently handle complete project design cycles — from enquiry drawings through manufacturing and FAT — with minimal oversight.
• Client-facing design communication: managing drawing approval cycles, technical discussions, and design change management.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 design documentation requirements and experience maintaining controlled drawing registers.
• Familiarity with components from brands such as Schneider Electric, L&T;, ABB, and — selection, specification, and BOM accuracy.
• Coordination with Production and Quality teams to resolve design-to-floor translation issues and support CAPA closure where design is the root cause
