- Physically and technically analyze sample fabrics received from buyers, designers, or R&D.;
- Determine fabric fiber content (cotton, polyester, viscose, blends, etc.)
- Examine yarn type, count, twist, ply, and blend ratio
- Identify fabric construction – ends per inch (EPI), picks per inch (PPI), weave pattern, GSM, and cover factor.
- Analyze fabric finish and feel
- Maintain a record of all developed fabrics with technical specifications
