* Position Overview We are seeking an accomplished and execution-oriented Director – Projects (Thermal Power) to lead the execution, project management and commissioning of multiple ultra-supercritical thermal power projects, each of 800 MW and above capacity, across different locations. The incumbent will provide strategic and operational leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely execution, commissioning, quality, safety, cost control and adherence to the highest technical and regulatory standards. The role requires a seasoned thermal power qualified with extensive hands-on experience in large-scale project execution, strong stakeholder management capabilities and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across geographically dispersed project sites. *Key Result Areas* 1. Project Execution & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end execution of multiple large-scale thermal power projects of 800 MW and above, from construction through erection, testing, commissioning and commercial operation.
- Ensure achievement of project milestones, timelines, budgets and contractual commitments.
- Monitor project progress across locations, identify critical bottlenecks and implement corrective measures.
- Drive coordination among engineering, procurement, construction, erection and commissioning teams. 2. Construction, Erection & Commissioning
- Oversee civil and structural works, boiler and turbine-generator erection, coal and ash handling systems, fuel supply systems, cooling water systems, electrical and instrumentation works, and balance-of-plant packages.
- Ensure systematic planning and execution of pre-commissioning, testing, trial runs, performance guarantee tests and final commissioning.
- Resolve complex technical and site execution challenges to minimize delays and cost overruns.




- Ensure seamless integration of all major equipment and systems for reliable plant operation. 3. Project Planning & Monitoring
- Establish project execution strategies, detailed schedules, resource plans and milestone-based monitoring systems.
- Review progress against approved baselines and drive recovery plans wherever required.
- Monitor contractor performance, equipment deliveries, manpower deployment and site productivity.
- Implement robust reporting mechanisms and provide periodic project status updates to senior management. 4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead large, multidisciplinary project teams comprising project directors, construction managers, engineering specialists, contractors and commissioning professionals.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, EPC contractors, consultants, government authorities, utilities and other stakeholders. 5. Cost, Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Drive project cost control, budget adherence, claims management and effective utilization of resources.
- Ensure compliance with approved engineering specifications, quality standards, applicable statutory requirements and environmental regulations.
- Establish and enforce stringent EHS standards across all project sites.

- 25 years of experience in the thermal power sector, with substantial exposure to large-scale power plant construction, execution and commissioning.
- Proven track record of delivering 800 MW and above thermal power units, preferably ultra-supercritical projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in project execution, erection, testing, commissioning and integrated project management.
- Experience managing multiple project sites simultaneously.
