Academic Leadership
- Provide overall leadership for undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD/MS), and super-specialty academic programmes.
- Monitor teaching, learning, clinical training, and assessment activities.
- Ensure regular academic audits and departmental reviews.
- Promote creative teaching methodologies, simulation-based learning, and integrated teaching.
- Ensure timely conduct of examinations and declaration of results. 2. Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordinate the functioning of all academic and clinical departments.
- Supervise Heads of Departments (HODs) and other academic authorities.
- Ensure effective utilization of institutional resources.
- Participate in institutional planning, policy formulation, and decision-making.
- Ensure proper maintenance of academic records, institutional documentation, and reports.
- Implement decisions of the Governing Body, Board of Management, or competent authority. 3. Faculty Management and Development
- Coordinate faculty recruitment, promotion, and performance evaluation as per applicable rules.
- Encourage faculty development programmes, CME, workshops, and conferences.
- Promote professional ethics, discipline, accountability, and teamwork.
- Identify faculty training requirements.
- Encourage faculty participation in research and academic activities. 4. Research and Innovation
- Promote high-quality clinical, biomedical, and translational research.
- Encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative research.
- Strengthen institutional research committees and research infrastructure.




- Ensure compliance with Institutional Ethics Committee requirements.
- Promote research publications, patents, innovations, and scientific presentations.
- Encourage postgraduate students and faculty to undertake research projects. 5. Clinical and Hospital Administration Coordination
- Coordinate with the Medical Superintendent for effective functioning of teaching hospitals.
- Ensure integration of clinical services with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Monitor the quality of clinical training and patient-care services.
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and ethical medical practices.
- Ensure adequate clinical material and infrastructure for medical education. 6. Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with applicable NMC regulations and standards.
- Oversee preparation for NMC inspections and assessments.
- Ensure maintenance of faculty, student, infrastructure, and clinical records.
- Coordinate accreditation and quality-assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government and university requirements. 7. Student Welfare and Discipline
- Safeguard the academic interests and welfare of students.
- Ensure effective mentoring and counselling systems.
- Address student grievances through appropriate mechanisms.
- Prevent ragging, discrimination, harassment, and other forms of misconduct.
- Promote student participation in sports, cultural activities, and community service.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
