Role Description The Lead Machinist is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat, responsible for overseeing machining operations and ensuring high-quality service delivery at client locations. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing onsite machining jobs, supervising controlled bolting and cold cutting activities, and performing line boring and heat exchanger retubing with precision.

The Lead

Machinist will organize work schedules, allocate tasks to team members, and ensure that tools, equipment, and materials are available and maintained. The role includes interpreting technical drawings, performing measurements, monitoring safety practices,



and documenting work completed. Collaboration with engineers, technicians, and clients to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and meet project deadlines is an important part of this role.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in onsite machining operations, including line boring and related precision work.
- Proficiency in controlled bolting techniques and cold cutting processes, with a focus on safety and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
- Skilled in using machining tools, measurement instruments, and equipment maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate workflows, and train junior technicians.
- Solid understanding of industrial safety standards and protected work practices in field environments.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in mechanical, machining, or engineering disciplines; comparable practical experience will be considered.
- Willingness to work in demanding onsite conditions and travel to various client facilities as required.
