Program Associate – Healthcare Speech Data (Hospital Recording), Contract
Location: Hyderabad (on-site at assigned hospitals)
About the role
We are building real-world speech datasets for healthcare AI: natural conversations between doctors, nurses and other hospital staff and the patients they serve, recorded in outpatient departments, wards and counselling rooms, in the local language with dialect and code-switching intact. This is not app-based crowd recording and not studio work. You will run the recording programme at the assigned hospitals in Hyderabad, from onboarding the hospital staff to delivering clean, consent-verified, transcribed data.
What you will do
- Coordinate with the hospital point of contact at each assigned site to plan departments, rooms, timings and recording schedules
- Onboard doctors, nurses and counsellors one-on-one on the recording protocol, consent script and how to pause when personal or sensitive topics come up, and certify them before they record
- Prepare each site around patient flow and clinic hours, and place devices without disrupting care
- Be present for the first recordings at each hospital, and handle patient and staff refusals with care
- Enforce privacy-safe capture: no names, phone numbers or identifying details recorded, sensitive topics handled correctly, and patient consent audio present on every file
- Collect and validate a standard metadata form for every recording (speaker role, demographics, language and dialect, department, workplace, device, topic tags), and reject files with missing fields
- Manage the segmentation and transcription teams on the annotation tool,
and recruit transcribers who know medical terminology and Telugu dialects
- Arrange and track review by medical experts where required
- Report weekly on hours recorded, hours passed QC, topic distribution, demographic distribution and hospitals covered
What we are looking for
- Based in Hyderabad and comfortable spending most working days inside hospital settings
- Fluent in Telugu and Hindi (Urdu or Dakhni is a plus), because this is close to essential for the work
- Comfortable working with hospital staff and coordinators, and keeping them on schedule
- Calm, respectful and discreet around patients and sensitive conversations, and rigorous about consent paperwork
- 0 to 2 years in programme delivery, healthcare operations, clinical research coordination, surveys or data collection
- Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets, trackers and annotation or recording tools
Good to have
- Experience in hospital operations, clinical trials, public health or health-tech projects
- Experience with speech, transcription or annotation projects
- Familiarity with data privacy and patient consent practices, including India’s data protection rules
You will be measured on
- Accepted hours against plan per hospital and department
- 100% of recordings with patient consent audio and complete metadata, and zero personal-information incidents in delivered data
- Segmentation and transcription passing client validation first time
- Topic and demographic distribution within agreed ranges
- Staff retention: recorders still active past the first month at or above the agreed share
