About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced professional to lead vendor identification, sourcing and development for packaging requirements across our dairy and private-label product categories.

The role will involve identifying reliable packaging manufacturers, evaluating their capabilities, negotiating commercial terms and ensuring the development of packaging solutions that meet our quality, food safety, cost and operational requirements.

We are specifically looking for someone with prior hands-on experience in packaging procurement and vendor development, preferably in the dairy, FMCG or food industry.

Key Responsibilities1. Vendor Identification & Development

- Identify and onboard packaging manufacturers and suppliers for dairy and other private-label categories.
- Build a strong vendor network across different packaging materials and formats.
- Evaluate vendors based on manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, certifications, production capacity and commercial viability.
- Conduct vendor visits, factory audits and capability assessments wherever required.
- Develop alternate vendor sources to minimise supply risks and dependency.

2. Packaging Sourcing & Procurement

- Source packaging materials such as bottles, pouches, cartons, labels, caps, containers, laminates and other relevant formats.
- Understand packaging requirements for different product categories, particularly dairy and food products.
- Ensure packaging materials are suitable for food contact and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Drive cost optimisation without compromising packaging quality or product integrity.

3. Commercial Negotiations

- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, credit periods and delivery timelines.
- Compare vendor quotations and evaluate total procurement costs.
- Work towards improving procurement efficiency and achieving competitive sourcing costs.

4. Packaging Development & Quality

- Coordinate with vendors for new packaging development, sampling and trials.




- Work with internal teams to finalise packaging specifications, material grades, dimensions and designs.
- Ensure packaging is functional, durable, leak-proof and suitable for the product's storage and transportation requirements.
- Resolve packaging-related quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with vendors.

5. Vendor Relationship & Supply Management

- Build and maintain long-term relationships with packaging vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance on quality, pricing, lead times and fulfilment.
- Ensure timely availability of packaging materials to support uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain vendor databases, quotations, specifications and procurement records.

Required Experience & Skills
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in packaging sourcing, procurement or vendor development.
- Prior experience in identifying and onboarding packaging manufacturers is mandatory.
- Experience sourcing packaging for dairy, FMCG, food processing or other food-related industries.
- Good understanding of packaging materials such as PET, HDPE, PP, multilayer films, laminates, paperboard and food-grade containers.
- Familiarity with food-grade packaging requirements and relevant compliance standards.
- Strong commercial negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to independently identify, evaluate and develop new vendors.
- Willingness to travel for vendor meetings and factory visits.

What We Are Looking ForSomeone who can independently build our packaging vendor ecosystem from the ground up. This is a hands-on role requiring strong market knowledge, established vendor sourcing capabilities, commercial acumen and the ability to take ownership of packaging procurement end to end. Key: Candidates with only general procurement or purchase experience, without direct exposure to packaging sourcing and manufacturer identification, will not be suitable for this role.
