Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Java Developer.

The Java

Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services, with a focus on reliable, scalable, and secure solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing microservices, working with the Spring Framework ecosystem, writing clean and efficient code, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions and best practices.

Developer will be expected to follow agile methodologies, document technical work, and support continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

- Strong Software Development skills, including experience with Software Engineering principles and application lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in Java and solid Programming skills for building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Microservices architectures, including designing, deploying, and scaling distributed systems.
- Practical knowledge of the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) for enterprise application development.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and integration with external services.
- Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git) and build tools (such as Maven or Gradle).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, collaborate effectively with distributed teams, and communicate clearly in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in agile methodologies and prior work in product-based or enterprise solution environments is an advantage.
