We are looking for an experienced bank CFO to take on an interim assignment with a commercial banking client in a frontier market in South and Central Asia.
The interim CFO will lead the bank’s finance function and report to the CEO and Board. The role is on site and starts as soon as possible, for an initial term of 3-6 months.
The role
- Lead finance, treasury and regulatory reporting, and act as the bank’s senior finance voice with the Board, the Audit and Risk committees and ALCO
- Manage liquidity, funding and correspondent banking relationships in a constrained setting
- Own capital adequacy and central bank reporting, and keep the bank within regulatory limits
- Oversee IFRS 9 credit loss provisioning and work closely with Risk and external auditors
- Stabilise month-end close, reconciliations and controls
- Prepare a stable, well-documented function for handover to a permanent CFO
What you will bring
- Experience as CFO, Deputy CFO or Financial Controller of a commercial bank
- A professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience of regulatory capital, central bank returns and IFRS 9
- Experience of ALM and liquidity management, including under stress
- Confidence presenting to a Board and regulators
- Experience in frontier or difficult markets

- Islamic banking experience
- Prior interim or turnaround roles
