Role Description The General Manager Manufacturing – Machining will oversee end-to-end machining operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met for hot forged products. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves planning and optimizing machining processes, supervising production teams, and coordinating with quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions for seamless operations. The role includes monitoring equipment utilization, driving continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing practices, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

The General

Manager will manage budgets, analyze operational metrics, support capacity expansion,



and collaborate with senior leadership and key customers on technical and performance-related matters. The position also requires mentoring team members, resolving daily operational issues, and maintaining robust documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in machining operations, production management, and process optimization in a manufacturing or forging setting.
- Proficiency in quality management practices, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ISO/TS).
- Skills in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and implementation of productivity and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, with strong people management, coaching, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Experience in maintenance coordination, equipment planning, and ensuring minimal downtime in machining and related processes.
- Competence in planning and managing budgets, tracking KPIs, and using data-driven decision-making for operations management.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and internal leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in operations or quality are an advantage.
- Familiarity with ERP or production planning systems and basic computer proficiency for reporting and analysis.
