About the Role
We're looking for a Finance & Compliance Manager who is a recently qualified CA and thinks like an owner: rigorous, detail-obsessed, and excited about building the finance backbone of a startup. You'll own our monthly close, IP register, and compliance calendar across India and Singapore, and review the work of our external chartered accountants before anything is filed.
This is a full-time, high-ownership role based at our HSR Layout, Bengaluru office, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
What You'll Do
- Own the monthly close: the cost base, the cost-plus invoice to our Singapore entity, adjustment against the advance, and the monthly USD reconciliation with the Singapore team
- Maintain the IP register: activity codes, capitalization and amortization of software development, the evidence trail, and clear separation between our entities' products
- Own the compliance calendar: GST, TDS, 15CA/15CB, 3CEB, FEMA and ROC. Our external chartered accountants execute the filings; you make sure each one is prepared and filed on time
- Review the external chartered accountants' work before anything is filed
- Be the single point of contact for corporate and accounts matters across our external accountants, auditors and the Singapore team
What We're Looking For
- Qualified CA with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience, with working knowledge of AS 26, IAS 38, transfer pricing, GST and FEMA (a CMA or CA Inter with 5+ years of hands-on startup finance is an acceptable alternative)
- Experience in at least two of these: audit of tech or startup clients; transfer pricing or international tax (cost-plus billing to a foreign parent, 3CEB, benchmarking); running startup books (GST, TDS, payroll, monthly MIS)
- Software capitalization: able to read a sprint plan and split it into research (expensed) and development (capitalized), with evidence for each
- Cross-border basics: export-of-services invoicing (LUT, SAC codes, realization of export proceeds), 15CA/15CB, FEMA reporting (FC-GPR, FC-TRS, FLA, ODI), and the India–Singapore tax treaty
- Strong spreadsheet skills and transparent written English; much of the job is reconciliations and emails to accountants, auditors, and Singapore
- Nice to have: Singapore exposure (SFRS(I), IRAS); experience at a GCC or captive unit that bills its foreign parent
- Nice to have: already uses Claude or similar AI tools at work, and checks the output rather than trusting it
