Role Description The Estimation Engineer role at G Map is a full time, on-site position based in Bengaluru South.

The Estimation

Engineer will prepare detailed project estimates, quantities, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for geospatial and civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements and project specifications. Daily responsibilities include analyzing drawings and project documentation, coordinating with project managers and technical teams, and researching materials, vendors, and pricing to support cost-effective solutions. The role involves participating in negotiation discussions with suppliers and contractors, updating cost databases,



and maintaining estimation records for ongoing and future projects.

The Estimation

Engineer will also support bid preparation, respond to technical queries from stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes and standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in BOQ preparation and Project Estimation for engineering and construction-related projects.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Civil Engineering and an understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Candidates should possess effective Negotiation skills to engage with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders on pricing and contract terms.
- Candidates should possess Research skills to gather market rates, technical data, and project benchmarks that inform accurate cost estimates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in estimation or quantity surveying within infrastructure, construction, or geospatial projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in estimation and quantity take-off software, as well as MS Excel and other relevant office tools.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Familiarity with regional codes, standards, and contract practices in India and/or GCC markets is an advantage.
