Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and vision-driven AWS DevOps Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation workflows. In this role, you will define cloud strategies, drive DevOps best practices, enforce security and compliance standards, and mentor engineering teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and highly secure cloud environments on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Architecture & Strategy

- Design, architect, and deploy end-to-end cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) aligning with business goals and performance metrics.
- Evaluate legacy infrastructure and lead cloud migration initiatives using AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Define architecture standards, disaster recovery strategies, and multi-region high availability patterns.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

- Develop, modularize, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Automate provision, configuration management, and environment setup across Development, Staging, and Production environments using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Implement automated drift detection and self-healing cloud mechanisms.

3. CI/CD & Deployment Engineering

- Build, optimize, and manage enterprise-grade continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Establish blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies to achieve zero-downtime releases.
- Implement automated testing, static code analysis, and security scanning (SAST/DAST) within CI/CD pipelines.

Containerization & Orchestration

- Architect and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration platforms (Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS).
- Implement service mesh architectures (Istio or AWS App Mesh) for traffic management, observability, and service-to-service security.

5. Security, Governance & Compliance

- Enforce strict IAM policies, RBAC, least privilege access, and secure key/secret management using AWS KMS and HashiCorp Vault.
- Implement DevSecOps integration, automated vulnerability scanning, compliance monitoring (AWS Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub), and audit readiness.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS where applicable.

6. Observability, Operations & Cost Optimization

- Design comprehensive monitoring, logging, and APM solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK Stack.
- Establish proactive alert systems, incident response playbooks, and root cause analysis (RCA) protocols.
- Lead AWS cost optimization (FinOps) initiatives, managing Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, auto-scaling policy refinements, and resource rightsizing.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years specializing in AWS Cloud Architecture, DevOps engineering,



and automation.
- AWS Expertise: In-depth mastery of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Route53, KMS).
- IaC Proficiency: Advanced skill with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for complex multi-account AWS environments (AWS Organizations, Control Tower).
- Containerization: Deep expertise with Docker, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), Helm charts, and container security.
- CI/CD Systems: Proven track record building enterprise CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS Developer Tools).
- Scripting & Programming: Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or TypeScript for infrastructure automation.
- Networking & Security: Strong foundation in cloud networking (VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, WAF) and cloud security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

- Certifications:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (Highly Preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Qualified
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Experience with microservices architecture and serverless patterns (AWS Lambda, API Gateway).
- Familiarity with FinOps tools (Kubecost, CloudHealth) and cloud management frameworks.

- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex architecture decisions to technical teams and executive stakeholders.
