Wiring Harness Schematic Engineer

About the Role
Were looking for an experienced Wiring Harness Schematic Engineer to join our agile EV team. Youll own the design and development of LV & HV wiring harness Architecture and Schematic design for electric two-wheelers
- from concept to production. This is a hands-on role where innovation, speed, and precision matter.

Key Responsibilities
Create the Schematic circuit layout in Capital Harness software. Perform the Design Rule Check (DRC) and analyse/resolve identified errors. Develop the vehicle level architecture data based on system requirement. Selection of wires, connectors, terminals, seals, fuse, relays, Mosefet, protective coverings, and other harness components. Define and Design CAN communication architecture, network architecture, termination resistance and signal connectivity as per system and functional safety ISO 26262. Develop and maintaining vehicle-level electrical/electronic architecture for EVs, including system connectivity, power distribution, communication networks, and wiring harness interfaces. Prepare test plans and specifications for electrical continuity, insulation resistance, voltage drop, short-circuit, load, and functional testing. Generate the wire list from schematic data for 2D drawing creation. Generate the Connector view and pinning details. Ensure the LV and HV cable design meet the EMI/EMC compliance, regulations and flammability requirements. Define requirements for continuity, short circuit, open circuit, reverse polarity, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and isolation testing Define and validate connector contact resistance and terminal performance under specified operating conditions. Debug and diagnose vehicle-level electrical and wiring harness issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Perform electrical integration checks in the schematic to verify circuit connectivity, signal integrity, and compliance with system requirements.

Develop and define grounding architecture and topology for vehicle electrical and safety-critical systems based on system requirements and Functional Safety guidelines. Define requirements for electrical load and power distribution testing, including fuse, relay, grounding, and power supply verification. Support EMC/EMI and ESD-related testing of electrical systems and harness interfaces as per applicable requirements. Prepare the DFMEA, DFA and DFM document preparation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the wiring harness design process, focusing on cost optimization, weight reduction, and performance enhancement. Coordinate with ECU, software, mechanical, wiring harness, testing, and validation teams for system integration. Troubleshoot and resolve wiring harness-related issues in prototype and production vehicles, providing effective solutions in a timely manner. Selection of automotive-grade materials and manufacturing processes related to wiring harnesses. Support environmental and durability testing such as temperature cycling, vibration, humidity, water ingress, and mechanical durability, as applicable to the harness location. Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in wiring harness schematic design and development.
- Hands-on experience in Proficiency in Capital Harness software for schematic creation.
- Team centre (PLM) for Drawing release and part number management.
- Experience in EV vehicle wiring harness design and development. (Preferably Two Wheelers).
- Proficiency in Capital Harness/SolidWorks/Zuken software for schematic creation.
- Experience in Electrical component and system level testing requirement as per standard.
- Valuable Knowledge in Debug and diagnose vehicle-level electrical and wiring harness issues.
- Knowledge of LV/HV systems, CAN communication, power distribution, grounding, and electrical interfaces.
- Knowledge of ISO 16750 and ISO 26262 Functional Safety. Soft Skills
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Design optimization and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
