About the opportunity

Devi Cineplex is bringing its food and beverage concessions under direct theater management. We are hiring two Assistant Managers who will take responsibility for running their shifts and delivering a welcoming, effective and enjoyable experience for every customer.

We are looking for energetic, hardworking professionals who lead from the front, support their teams and stay calm during busy intervals. You should be equally comfortable helping a customer, organising a counter team and completing an accurate shift closing.

Key responsibilitiesTake ownership of the shift

- Run the assigned concessions shift in line with the F&B; Manager’s operating standards.
- Complete opening checks covering counter cleanliness, equipment, menu availability, food readiness, packaging and billing systems.
- Review show timings and expected attendance; position staff and replenish counters before each rush.
- Conduct shift briefings and allocate billing, preparation, serving, replenishment and cleaning duties.
- Coordinate breaks and staff deployment so service counters remain adequately covered.
- Complete a documented handover covering stock, collections, equipment issues and pending customer matters.

Make customer service a priority

- Maintain a visible presence at the counters and actively manage queues.
- Ensure customers are greeted politely, orders are taken correctly and bills and payments are accurate.
- Check that orders are prepared and served promptly, especially during intervals.
- Handle complaints calmly and take timely corrective action within authorised limits.
- Explain products, prices and combos clearly,



and guide the team in helpful product recommendations.
- Step into counter operations whenever additional support is needed.

Maintain food quality and hygiene

- Check freshness, portions, presentation, storage conditions and product availability throughout the shift.
- Follow stock rotation, date-labelling and safe food-handling procedures.
- Ensure the team follows personal hygiene, grooming and cleaning standards.
- Record wastage and remove unsuitable or expired products from sale immediately.
- Report equipment faults promptly and coordinate an appropriate response with the F&B; Manager and maintenance team.

Control stock billing and collections

- Check stock received and issued during the shift and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor fast-moving items and arrange timely replenishment.
- Ensure all sales are entered into the POS using the correct items and payment modes.
- Reconcile cash, card and UPI collections against shift reports and hand over collections through the approved process.
- Record and obtain approval for refunds, voids, discounts and complimentary issues.
- Investigate and report stock or collection discrepancies promptly.
- Submit shift reports covering sales, wastage, shortages, customer complaints and operational issues.

Support and supervise the team

- Coach counter and preparation staff through practical, on-the-job training.
- Maintain punctuality, discipline, teamwork and respectful conduct.
- Help new employees learn products, equipment, billing and service standards.
- Support the F&B; Manager with takeover preparations, trial runs and staff readiness before launch.

Candidate profile





- Preferably 3–5 years of experience in cinema concessions, QSR, cafés or high-volume food service.
- At least 1 year as a supervisor, team leader or shift in-charge.
- Experienced senior cinema F&B; associates ready for greater responsibility may also be considered.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management preferred; relevant practical experience is valued.
- Confident in POS billing, cash handling, stock checks and basic computer reporting.
- Able to communicate courteously in Tamil, with working English.
- Reliable, well-presented and comfortable taking responsibility during busy service periods.
- Willing to work rotational shifts, evenings, weekends, public holidays and late-show closing duties.
- Honest, attentive to detail and willing to assist with practical counter work.

Performance measures

- Shift readiness and availability of menu items.
- Customer waiting time, order accuracy and complaint handling.
- Cleanliness, food quality and completion of operating checks.
- Accuracy of stock records and payment reconciliation.
- Wastage control and timely reporting of discrepancies.
- Team deployment, attendance and handover quality.
- Achievement of shift sales goals while maintaining service standards.
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience and shift-management capability.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 per month
