- Medication Administration: They safely give patients prescribed oral drugs, intravenous (IV) fluids, and injections while watching for side effects.
- Direct Clinical Care: Nurses dress wounds, insert catheters, manage oxygen therapy, and help patients with daily physical needs.
- Care Coordination: They work closely with doctors, therapists, and staff to plan secure admissions, daily care routines, and patient discharges.
- Patient and Family Education: Nurses explain diagnoses, home-care instructions, and medication use to help patients recover safely.
- Emotional Support and Advocacy: They comfort scared or stressed patients and protect patient rights within the medical team.
