Keeps fabric, trims and packaging in stock before production needs them, at the best landed cost and credit terms. Ekanta Global is a Chennai D2C brand making handcrafted kurtis, sarees, half sarees, matching sets and kidswear.

- Location: Chennai, full-time, on-site, with vendor visits
- Reports to: Founder & CEO
- Works with: Operations (requirements), design (samples), merchandising, accounts (payments)

Key responsibilities

- Planning
- Weekly purchase plan for fabric, linings, trims, labels and packaging, from production plan + BOM
- Bulk buys 4–6 weeks before festive and collection launches
- Reorder levels for fast-moving fabrics
- Sourcing and vendors
- 2+ vendors per key material: cotton, silk, handloom, prints, trims, packaging
- Current fabrics and swatches for design each season
- Monthly vendor rating: price, quality, delivery, credit
- Negotiation and cost
- Negotiate price, MOQ and credit period
- Track and cut landed cost/metre (price + freight + wastage) at same quality
- POs above agreed limit need CEO approval




- Receiving and quality
- Check every inward vs PO: qty, shade, GSM, width, defects
- Return or claim short/defective supply within 48 hrs
- Inventory
- Keep the fabric inventory sheet updated on every inward and issue (store room vs supply room)
- Monthly physical count, reconciled with sheet
- Flag slow-moving and dead stock for reuse or clearance
- Payments and reporting
- Weekly payables schedule to accounts, per credit terms
- Weekly CEO report: purchases, open POs, pending deliveries, savings, stock-outs

Must have

- 3+ yrs purchasing (garment brand, manufacturer or export house)
- Fabric know-how: shade matching, shrinkage, defects added advantage.
- Vendor contacts in Chennai, Tiruppur, Erode, Surat or similar added advantage
- Google Sheets for POs, stock, payables
- Fluent Tamil, working English

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
