Senior MEP Engineer cum Draughtsman

Decon Infratech Engineering Private Limited is looking for a highly experienced and technically sound MEP Engineer cum Draftsman to manage MEP engineering drawings, technical design coordination, BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and project documentation for commercial, industrial, institutional, and infrastructure projects.

The candidate must be capable of independently handling technical drawings, coordinating multiple MEP services, and supporting project execution from design to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- MEP Design & Drafting
- Prepare detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Develop and review layouts for Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Fire Alarm, STP, and WTP systems.
- Prepare equipment room layouts, piping schematics, riser diagrams, and sectional details.
- Identify and resolve clashes between different MEP services.
- BOQ Preparation & Estimation
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and quantity calculations.
- Review tender drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Assist in preparing technical and commercial quotations.
- Verify contractor measurements, material requirements, and project quantities.
- Technical Engineering & Coordination
- Review MEP design drawings for practical execution and technical compliance.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, vendors, and site engineers.
- Prepare technical submittals, material approval documents, and drawings for consultant approval.
- Support engineering calculations, equipment selection, and system planning.
- Provide technical guidance to site execution teams.
- Project Execution Support
- Coordinate with project teams for accurate implementation of approved drawings.




- Attend site visits and technical meetings when required.
- Review site modifications and incorporate changes in drawings.
- Support testing, commissioning, and project handover documentation.

Required Technical Skills

- AutoCAD 2D – Mandatory (Advanced proficiency)
- Revit MEP / BIM – Preferred
- MS Excel – Advanced knowledge for BOQ and estimation
- Strong understanding of Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical systems
- Knowledge of STP/WTP piping and equipment layouts
- Familiarity with NBC, relevant IS codes, NFPA standards, and applicable building regulations
- Ability to independently interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Strong quantity surveying, technical documentation, and coordination skills

Qualification & Experience

- B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years and preferably up to 10 years of relevant MEP engineering and drafting experience.
- Prior experience in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, institutional buildings, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with MEP contractors or engineering consultancy firms preferred.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a practical, hands-on engineer who can independently prepare professional MEP drawings, understand actual site requirements, calculate quantities accurately, and coordinate with execution teams.

Candidates with only basic drafting experience and no practical MEP engineering knowledge will not be considered.

Salary & Perks

₹75,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month, depending on technical expertise, relevant experience, and interview performance.
