TOOL ROOM ENGINEER

Faridabad Plant

Position: Tooling Engineer

Department: Production / Tool Room

Location: Faridabad, Haryana

Experience: 3–5 Years

Salary: ₹40,000–₹45,000 Per Month

1. Job Objective

To manage and optimize tooling requirements for manufacturing operations, ensuring proper selection, application, maintenance and performance of cutting tools, inserts, jigs, fixtures and other machining components.

2. Key Responsibilities

3. Must have complete technical and practical knowledge of tooling, inserts, jigs, fixtures and machining components.

4. Knowledge of different types of carbide inserts, turning inserts, milling cutters, drills, taps and boring tools.

5. Knowledge of jigs, fixtures, tool holders and work-holding devices.

6. Select appropriate tooling as per component drawings, material grades and machining requirements.

7. Handle tooling selection and optimization for CNC, VMC and other machining operations.

8. Monitor tool life, tool wear and performance to reduce tooling costs.

9. Troubleshoot machining problems related to tool breakage, vibration, surface finish and dimensional variations.

10. Coordinate with Production and Quality departments for tooling-related issues.

11. Develop cost-effective tooling solutions to improve productivity.

Maintain tooling inventory and ensure timely availability of required tools and inserts.

13. Conduct tooling trials for new component development and process improvement.

14. Coordinate with tooling suppliers for technical support and new tooling development.

15. Required Technical Skills

- Complete knowledge of cutting tools and carbide inserts.

- Turning, milling, drilling, boring and threading tools.

- Jigs and fixtures design and applications.

- CNC / VMC machining processes.

- Tool holders, collets and work-holding systems.

- Tool life management and cutting parameters.

- Reading and understanding engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of machining components and their applications.

4. Candidate Requirements

- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

- 3–5 years of relevant experience in automobile or manufacturing industry.

- Strong practical knowledge of tooling, inserts, jigs and fixtures.

- Ability to independently handle tooling-related activities.

- Good technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
