About Roboblox

Roboblox India Pvt. Ltd. is a technology startup exploring and developing software products and services. We are at an early stage, building prototypes, experimenting with technologies, and learning as we turn ideas into working solutions.

We value practical problem-solving, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take ideas from concept to implementation. We also use modern AI coding tools to help us develop and improve our products.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer with at least three years of experience in web application development using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.

In addition to software development, the role involves managing application infrastructure, deploying applications, and testing application functionality. As we do not have separate DevOps or QA teams, you will be expected to take ownership of these responsibilities alongside development.

We use AI coding agents such as Claude Code to improve development productivity. You should be comfortable using these tools while retaining the ability to understand code, debug problems independently, and validate solutions.

Key Responsibilities1. Software Development

- Develop and maintain web applications, backend services, and REST APIs using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Build frontend interfaces using Svelte/SvelteKit.
- Work with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, queries, and performance troubleshooting.
- Integrate application components, databases, and external services.
- Write maintainable code, investigate defects, and implement fixes.
- Use AI coding tools to assist with development, refactoring, and debugging while reviewing and validating the results.

2. Infrastructure and DevOps

- Set up and maintain development, testing, and production environments.
- Containerise applications using Docker and manage container-based deployments.
- Deploy and operate applications on AWS.
- Configure application environments, networking, access permissions,

secrets, and service connectivity.
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
- Monitor application health, logs, resource utilisation, and service availability.
- Troubleshoot application, container, deployment, and infrastructure issues.
- Perform basic load testing and capacity assessment to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Automate repetitive deployment and operational tasks where practical.

3. Application Testing and Quality Assurance

As there is no separate QA team, you will be responsible for testing the applications you develop and helping maintain overall application quality.

- Test application features end to end to verify that they meet requirements.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and API testing.
- Test user workflows, input validation, error handling, database operations, and external integrations.
- Identify, reproduce, and troubleshoot defects, and verify fixes.
- Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and API tests where appropriate.
- Perform manual exploratory testing to identify issues that automated tests may miss.
- Verify that applications work correctly after deployment.
- Use AI tools to assist with generating test scenarios and tests, while independently validating their effectiveness.

4. Technical Problem-Solving

- Investigate problems across application code, databases, containers, and infrastructure.
- Analyse logs, error messages, and system metrics to identify root causes.
- Take ownership of tasks from implementation through testing and deployment.
- Learn new technologies and contribute to technical decisions as our products evolve.

Required Skills

- At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Solid working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience developing web applications and REST APIs.

- Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
- Practical experience with Docker and Linux environments.
- Working knowledge of AWS or another cloud platform, including application deployment and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of CI/CD, application configuration, logging, and monitoring.
- Experience testing web applications and APIs, including integration and regression testing.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and practices.
- Experience using AI coding assistants or agents, with the ability to review, understand, and debug their output.
- Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.

Svelte/SvelteKit experience is preferred.

Good to Have

- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with Docker Compose, Redis, or infrastructure as code.
- Experience with automated API testing and load-testing tools such as k6.
- Familiarity with application monitoring and log aggregation.

What We Are Looking For

We need an engineer who can build, deploy, test, and troubleshoot applications with minimal supervision.

You should be comfortable working across application code, databases, containers, and cloud infrastructure rather than relying on separate development, DevOps, or QA teams. You should also be able to use AI coding tools effectively without depending on them blindly.

As an early-stage startup, we value practical engineering skills, independent problem-solving, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.

Work Location

This is a full-time, work-from-office position. Roboblox operates from a coworking space rather than a dedicated company office. The selected candidate will be expected to work from the designated location.

Location: [Coworking space location, City, Kerala]

How to Apply

Please share your CV along with a brief description of:

- An application you have developed or contributed to.
- Your experience setting up or maintaining application infrastructure.
- A technical issue you investigated and resolved.
- How you use AI coding tools in your development workflow.

Links to relevant projects or GitHub repositories are welcome.

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
