Job Description: Lab In-Charge – Safety Footwear

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lab In-Charge to manage laboratory operations, product testing, quality compliance, and certification processes for safety, occupational, and protective footwear. The candidate should have sound knowledge of BIS, EN, ASTM, and Australian footwear standards, along with hands-on experience in BIS audits, footwear testing procedures, and PU chemical processing control in injection moulding.

Key Responsibilities

- Standards & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable BIS, EN, ASTM, and Australian standards for safety, occupational, and protective footwear.
- Interpret relevant standards and implement applicable testing and quality requirements.
- Manage product certification procedures and maintain compliance documentation.
- Laboratory Management & Testing
- Oversee laboratory operations, footwear testing, and quality verification.
- Ensure testing is conducted according to applicable standards and approved procedures.
- Maintain testing records, calibration schedules, equipment maintenance, and test reports.
- Investigate product failures and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- BIS Audit & Certification
- Handle BIS audits and inspections related to safety footwear manufacturing.
- Coordinate product testing, sample preparation, documentation, and certification activities.
- Ensure audit readiness and timely closure of non-conformities.




- PU Chemical & Injection Process Control
- Possess sound knowledge of PU chemicals and their properties used in footwear manufacturing.
- Monitor PU chemical preparation, mixing ratios, processing parameters, and material performance.
- Control and monitor PU injection moulding processes to ensure consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot chemical and processing-related defects and implement corrective measures.
- Quality Improvement & Team Management
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and R&D; teams to resolve product quality issues.
- Develop and implement testing protocols and laboratory procedures.
- Guide laboratory personnel and ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Polymer Technology, Footwear Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in safety footwear testing, quality assurance, laboratory management, and certification.
- Practical experience handling BIS audits for footwear is essential.
- Strong knowledge of BIS, EN, ASTM, and Australian safety footwear standards.
- Hands-on knowledge of PU chemicals and injection moulding process control.
- Positive documentation, analytical, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

A technically sound professional with hands-on experience in safety footwear manufacturing, laboratory testing, regulatory compliance, BIS certification, and PU injection process control.

Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month
