Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks, plastic component design, and AutoCAD. The candidate will be responsible for developing plastic product designs, preparing engineering drawings, and supporting product development and manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop plastic components and products using SolidWorks.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D engineering drawings.
- Prepare and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Apply plastic part design principles, including wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses, and shrinkage considerations.
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing and plastic injection moulding.
- Review product dimensions, tolerances, fitment, and design specifications.
- Coordinate with tooling, production, quality, and manufacturing teams.
- Support prototype development, product testing, and design validation.
- Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and implement design improvements.
- Maintain engineering drawings, design files, and revision documentation.

Required Skills





- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design or plastic product design.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks for 3D modelling and assembly design.
- Positive knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
- Experience in plastic component design and product development.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and dimensional tolerances.
- Knowledge of injection moulding and plastic material properties.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in medical device or healthcare product design.
- Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Experience working with manufacturing and tooling teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A hands-on design professional with 5+ years of experience in SolidWorks, plastic component design, and AutoCAD, capable of handling product design, engineering drawings, and manufacturing-related design improvements independently.
