Job Description
Position Objective
We are seeking a hands-on, result-oriented Plant Head to manage end-to-end manufacturing operations for OTGs and kitchen chimneys, including sheet-metal fabrication, press shop, tooling, welding, surface finishing and final assembly.
The candidate will be responsible for manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, cost optimization and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fabrication & Press-Shop Operations
* Manage sheet-metal cutting, punching, stamping, bending, forming and welding operations.
* Oversee mechanical/hydraulic presses, dies, tools, jigs and fixtures.
* Improve machine utilization, material yield and tooling efficiency.
* Reduce scrap, rejection, downtime and manufacturing costs.
2. Assembly & Production Management
* Manage OTG and chimney assembly lines, testing and finished goods production.
* Optimize line balancing, manpower productivity and production cycle times.
* Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules.
* Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen , TPM and automation.
3. Quality & Cost Management
* Ensure product quality, electrical safety and manufacturing process controls.
* Reduce rejection, rework, warranty failures and conversion costs.
* Drive continuous productivity improvement and value engineering.
* Monitor manufacturing KPIs and implement corrective actions.
4. Current Product Development & Industrialization
* Coordinate with R&D;/NPD teams for new product launches.
* Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, dies, fixtures and assembly systems.




* Support component localization and supplier development.
* Ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
5. Plant Leadership
* Lead fabrication, press shop, assembly, quality, maintenance and engineering teams.
* Manage production planning, manpower, equipment and plant resources.
* Ensure factory safety, statutory compliance and operational discipline.
* Maintain effective production and inventory controls through ERP/SAP.
RequirementsCandidate Requirements:
* 12–18 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a senior production or plant leadership role.
* Strong hands-on experience in sheet-metal fabrication, press-shop operations and high-volume assembly.
* Sound knowledge of press tools, dies, welding, production engineering and maintenance.
* Proven track record in productivity improvement, cost reduction and quality management.
* Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

* Sheet-metal fabrication and engineering industries
Requirements
Qualifications and experience: - B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering; MBA or equivalent leadership programme preferred. - 18 - 22 years in precision manufacturing, with at least 8 years in aerospace machining. - 5+ years leading a multi-shift shop with a cost-centre responsibility of 100 crore or more in throughput. - Hands-on exposure to AS9100D audits, AS9102 FAI, SPC, Lean and Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).
