Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Product development team We are looking for a SDET who can help the team release product changes with confidence. You will combine thoughtful test design, exploratory investigation and maintainable automation across user journeys and APIs. We are open to different languages and frameworks. What matters is your ability to identify meaningful risks, create reliable checks and work with developers to resolve the problems you find.

What you will do

Work with product and engineering to understand requirements, user journeys and release risks.

Design focused test coverage across APIs, integrations and user interfaces, including negative and edge cases.

Build and maintain readable automated tests with dependable assertions, test data and workplace setup.

Integrate checks into CI, investigate failures and reduce flaky or low-value tests.

Use exploratory testing where automation alone cannot answer a product question.

Report defects with clear evidence and reproduction steps, then help the team prevent recurrence.

What you should bring

Hands-on experience writing automated tests in at least one programming language and one established test framework.





Ability to turn a feature or user story into risk-based test scenarios rather than simply counting test cases.

Experience testing APIs and browser-based workflows, including meaningful positive and negative assertions.

Understanding of test isolation, selectors, waits, data setup and cleanup, and the causes of flaky tests.

Ability to investigate failures using logs, traces, network responses or database evidence.

Working knowledge of version control, code review and CI, with comfort collaborating in a shared codebase.

Clear defect reporting and constructive communication with developers, product colleagues and stakeholders.

Practical judgment when using AI to generate tests: check the assertions, coverage and stability before accepting the output.

Helpful experience

Experience shaping a test framework or improving the speed and reliability of a CI suite.

Exposure to accessibility, performance, security or mobile testing.

Good to have tech stack

Selenium, Capybara, Cucumber, Playwright

Ruby, Javascript

Working with AI

You may use AI tools to suggest scenarios, draft automation or help analyze failures. You remain responsible for deciding what to test, confirming what each assertion proves and protecting confidential information. We value careful review of AI-generated tests.
