PGT Physics Teacher – Job Description

PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) – Physics is responsible for teaching Physics to students of Classes XI and XII, preparing them for board examinations and competitive examinations while developing their scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibilities

- Teach Physics to Classes XI and XII according to the prescribed CBSE Syllabus.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments, and question papers.
- Explain complex Physics concepts using practical examples, demonstrations, experiments, and digital teaching aids.
- Conduct Physics laboratory sessions and ensure proper use of laboratory equipment.
- Prepare students for CBSE board examinations and competitive examinations.
- Assess students' performance through tests, assignments, practical examinations, and projects.
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide remedial coaching whenever required.
- Maintain attendance records, academic reports, lesson plans, and other documentation.
- Encourage scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.




- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, school activities, and career development programmes.

Educational Qualifications

- Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Physics from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. degree from a recognized institution.
- Strong subject knowledge in Physics.

Required Skills

- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Physics concepts and practical applications.
- Ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple and effective manner.
- Laboratory management and experimental skills.
- Lesson planning and student assessment skills.
- Proficiency in smart classroom and digital teaching tools.

Experience

- Preferably minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
