Position: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Biology / Science

1. Job Overview

- Job Title: TGT Biology / TGT Science

- Reports To: Principal / Vice Principal / Head of Department

2. Job Purpose

To teach Biology and relevant Science topics in accordance with the CBSE curriculum, develop students' scientificknowledge and inquiry skills, encourage curiosity about living organisms and the environment, and promote practicallearning through experiments, demonstrations, and activities.

3. Roles and ResponsibilitiesA. Teaching and Academic Responsibilities

- Teach Biology and relevant Science topics to Classes VI–X as per the CBSE curriculum and prescribed textbooks.
- Prepare annual plans, lesson plans, worksheets, presentations, and teaching-learning materials.
- Explain concepts related to cell biology, human physiology, plant physiology, reproduction, heredity, ecology,biodiversity, and environmental science, as prescribed for each class.
- Use activity-based learning, demonstrations, models, experiments, and digital teaching resources.
- Develop students' scientific temper, observation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Integrate interdisciplinary and real-life applications into classroom teaching.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus according to the academic calendar.

B. Assessment and Evaluation

- Conduct periodic tests, assignments, projects, practical activities, and other assessments.
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, answer keys, and marking schemes aligned with CBSE assessment practices.
- Evaluate students' notebooks, assignments, projects, and examination papers regularly.
- Assess students' conceptual understanding, application skills, and scientific reasoning.
- Analyse assessment results and provide remedial teaching for students who require additional support.
- Prepare students for school examinations and CBSE Class X board examinations, where applicable.

Laboratory and Practical Responsibilities

- Conduct Science and Biology practical activities appropriate to the students' grade levels.
- Demonstrate the use of microscopes, models, specimens, charts, and laboratory equipment.
- Guide students in recording observations, maintaining practical records, and interpreting experimental results.
- Ensure laboratory safety and proper handling of equipment, chemicals, and biological specimens.
- Coordinate with the laboratory assistant to maintain equipment, materials, and laboratory cleanliness.
- Encourage students to participate in science exhibitions, projects, and investigative activities.

D. Student Development and Mentoring

- Maintain a disciplined, inclusive, and engaging classroom workplace.
- Encourage curiosity, environmental awareness, and responsible scientific practices.
- Provide individual attention to students with diverse learning needs.
- Mentor students for science fairs, quizzes, model-making competitions, and environmental projects.
- Monitor academic progress and communicate learning concerns to parents when required.
- Promote teamwork, independent learning, and critical thinking.

E. Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain attendance registers, lesson records, assessment records, and student portfolios.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and academic review sessions.
- Assist in preparing examination papers, academic reports, and student progress records.
- Participate in school assemblies, celebrations, science exhibitions, and co-curricular activities.
- Follow CBSE guidelines, school policies, and instructions issued by the school management.

4. Educational Qualifications





- Bachelor's degree in Science with Biology, Botany, Zoology, or an appropriate subject combination accepted for thepost.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution, where required.
- Must meet the applicable subject-combination, teacher eligibility test, and other recruitment requirementsprescribed by the school and relevant authorities.

Note: In CBSE schools, Biology is commonly taught as part of Science at the TGT level. The exact degree requirementsand subject combinations should be checked against the applicable recruitment rules.

5. Experience

- Teaching experience at the middle or secondary school level is preferred.
- Experience teaching Science in a CBSE-affiliated school is desirable.
- Familiarity with NCERT textbooks, competency-based learning, and CBSE assessment practices is an advantage.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge, communication skills, and classroom management abilities may beconsidered.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
