Interior Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative, motivated, and skilled Interior Designer to join our team at Daask Design. The role involves developing interior design concepts, preparing detailed interior drawings, coordinating with architects, consultants, and project teams, and supporting project documentation from concept design through execution and completion.

The ideal candidate should have strong design and technical drafting skills, knowledge of interior materials and construction practices, proficiency in interior design software, and the ability to deliver functional, aesthetically appealing, and technically accurate designs in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop interior design concepts, layouts, space planning, and design proposals for Government and Commercial projects.
- Prepare detailed interior design drawings, furniture layouts, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, sections, and working drawings.
- Develop detailed drawings based on design concepts, client requirements, sketches, and instructions provided by senior designers and project managers.
- Prepare detailed interior drawings for flooring, false ceilings, partitions, wall panelling, furniture, joinery, and other interior elements.
- Prepare furniture layouts, lighting layouts, electrical layouts, ceiling details, toilet details, and interior finishing details.
- Select and recommend suitable materials, finishes, colours, textures, furniture, lighting fixtures, and decorative elements.
- Prepare material boards, mood boards, colour schemes, 2D layouts, and 3D visualizations.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure design accuracy and smooth execution.
- Revise designs and drawings based on client feedback, consultant inputs, site conditions, and instructions from senior designers.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), material specifications,



furniture schedules, finish schedules, and other project documentation.
- Assist in material selection, vendor coordination, quotations, and interior product specifications.
- Conduct site visits to understand existing conditions, verify measurements, monitor execution, and resolve design-related discrepancies.
- Ensure that interior drawings and designs comply with project requirements, safety standards, and applicable building regulations.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions, and coordination before submission or issue for execution.
- Maintain organized digital drawing files, material records, project folders, and documentation.
- Support project teams in meeting deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of interior design drawings and project deliverables.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in interior designing for Commercial, Corporate, Government, or other architectural projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting, interior layouts, detailing, and working drawings.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Lumion, Enscape, or other 3D modelling and visualization software.
- Knowledge of Photoshop and other graphic presentation software is desirable.
- Ability to prepare interior layouts, furniture plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, and detailed execution drawings.
- Good understanding of interior materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, false ceilings, flooring, wall treatments,



and joinery details.
- Knowledge of space planning, ergonomics, colour combinations, design principles, and functional design.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity calculations, material specifications, and cost estimation.
- Strong understanding of interior execution practices, construction detailing, and site coordination.
- Ability to understand client requirements and convert design concepts into practical and functional interior solutions.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Solid creativity, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, incorporate revisions, and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience working on Government, Commercial, Corporate Office, and Institutional interior projects.
- Experience in preparing detailed interior execution drawings and technical submissions.
- Knowledge of furniture detailing, modular furniture, custom joinery, and interior specifications.
- Familiarity with site supervision, material selection, vendor coordination, and execution monitoring.
- Experience in preparing 3D views, walkthroughs, and client presentation drawings.
- Knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, for BOQs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with PDF markups, drawing comparison, and document control.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with senior designers and multidisciplinary teams.
