Role Description This is a full time, on-site Garden Nursery Assistant role based in Chennai. The Garden Nursery Assistant is responsible for day-to-day plant care, including watering, potting, transplanting, pruning, and monitoring plant health. The role involves organizing nursery stock, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and preparing plants and materials for customer orders and deliveries. The assistant supports customers by answering basic gardening questions, helping them select suitable plants and supplies, and providing courteous service at the nursery.



The position may also include assisting with inventory checks, simple record-keeping, and occasional support for workshops or demonstrations conducted by Balcony Crops. Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of plant care, including watering, soil handling, and recognizing common plant health issues.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting pots, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valuable communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Attention to detail and organization skills for maintaining nursery layout, cleanliness, and stock arrangement.
• Interest in gardening, urban farming, or sustainable living; prior experience in a nursery or agriculture setting is an advantage.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and handle basic tools and equipment used in plant care.
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt to changing seasonal tasks and priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in horticulture or agriculture is a plus.
