Job Description




Primary Responsibilities
• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to billing
• Enter charges and coding information into the billing software
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve denied or rejected claims
• Follow up on unpaid claims and aging accounts receivable
• Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment options
• Generate patient invoices and maintain billing records
• Collaborate with medical coders and healthcare staff to reconcile billing issues
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
• Skills and Qualifications
• Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic claim submission (EDI)
• Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Ability to handle confidential patient and financial information
• Positive communication skills for interacting with patients and insurers
• Experience with denial management, appeals, and payment collections
