About the Role
JA Foods is launching a new premium snacking brand and is looking for an experienced Packaging Technologist with hands-on experience in food product packaging development, material selection and packaging innovation. The candidate will be responsible for developing packaging solutions from concept to commercial production, working with vendors and ensuring food safety, product quality and shelf-life requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop primary, secondary and tertiary packaging solutions for different food and snacking products.
• Create packaging mock-ups, prototypes, technical drawings and final production-ready dielines.
• Identify and source suitable food-grade packaging materials based on product requirements.
• Work closely with packaging material vendors, manufacturers and printers to develop and execute packaging.
• Understand and implement MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), nitrogen flushing, vacuum packaging and heat-sealing technologies.
• Evaluate packaging materials for barrier properties, sealing performance, durability and shelf-life requirements.
• Coordinate packaging trials,



material testing and production feasibility.
• Ensure packaging meets food safety, hygiene and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Optimise packaging for product protection, freshness, functionality, aesthetics and cost. Must-Have Requirements
• Degree in Packaging Technology / Packaging Engineering or a relevant specialisation.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in packaging development, preferably for food products.
• Experience developing packaging for snacks, dry fruits, nuts or other packaged food categories.
• Existing network of packaging material vendors, manufacturers and suppliers.
• Strong technical understanding of food-grade packaging materials, including PET, PE, PP EVOH barrier films, multilayer laminates and other versatile and rigid packaging materials.
• Practical knowledge of MAP technology, nitrogen flushing, vacuum packaging and heat sealing.
• Understanding of oxygen and moisture barrier properties, material compatibility and shelf-life requirements.
• Ability to independently create mock-ups, technical specifications and production-ready dielines.
• Strong understanding of food safety, material quality standards and packaging regulations. Interested candidates can apply with their CV.
