Role Description The Consultant Biochemist is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, responsible for overseeing and optimizing biochemical testing and laboratory operations. This role involves supervising daily laboratory workflows, validating and interpreting test results, and ensuring adherence to quality control protocols and regulatory standards. The Consultant Biochemist will collaborate with clinicians and laboratory staff to refine testing panels, troubleshoot analytical issues, and support evidence-based decision-making. Responsibilities include reviewing and updating standard operating procedures, guiding method development and verification, training team members on best practices, and participating in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.



The role also involves staying current with advances in clinical biochemistry and recommending appropriate adoption of new assays or technologies. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills and Chemistry knowledge relevant to clinical biochemistry and diagnostic testing.
• Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to interpret complex biochemical data and support accurate clinical reporting.
• Candidates should possess experience in Quality Control, including method validation, calibration, proficiency testing, and compliance with laboratory standards.
• Candidates should possess Research capabilities to evaluate current assays, contribute to protocol development, and support continuous improvement projects.
• Master’s degree or higher in Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline; specialized training in clinical laboratory sciences is an advantage.
• Experience working in a diagnostic or hospital laboratory setting, with familiarity in regulatory frameworks and accreditation requirements (e.g., NABL or equivalent).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, technologists, and administrative teams.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, maintain accuracy under time constraints, and uphold ethical standards in handling patient data and laboratory results.
