10+ years in data engineering, database architecture, or analytical platforms Mandatory Certification: ClickHouse Certified Developer JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced, ClickHouse certified Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable analytical data platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong architectural expertise with hands-on ClickHouse experience to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions for real-time analytics. This role requires ownership of architecture decisions, technical delivery, performance optimization, and production readiness, along with the ability to guide engineering teams and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own the end-to-end architecture of ClickHouse solutions, translating business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Design data models, ingestion pipelines, and query patterns for high-volume analytical workloads and real-time reporting.
• Select appropriate MergeTree-family table engines, sorting keys, primary keys, partitioning strategies, and data retention policies.
• Design sharding, replication, and distributed query strategies for self-managed deployments, and evaluate appropriate ClickHouse Cloud architectures.
• Optimize SQL queries, joins, aggregations, materialized views, projections, compression, and data-skipping indexes.
• Build reliable batch and streaming ingestion patterns using Kafka, CDC platforms, object storage, APIs, and other enterprise data sources.
• Define approaches for deduplication, late-arriving data, schema evolution, updates, and deletes based on workload requirements.
• Assess existing platforms and lead migrations to ClickHouse, including schema redesign, data reconciliation,



performance benchmarking, and cutover planning.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, workload management, and cost optimization practices.
• Define and validate high availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures against agreed business requirements.
• Implement role-based access control, secure connectivity, encryption requirements, and appropriate data governance controls.
• Lead architecture reviews, troubleshoot complex production issues, document technical decisions, and mentor engineering teams. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of overall experience in data engineering, database engineering, data architecture, or related technical roles.
• Official ClickHouse Certified Developer certification, with a verifiable certificate or digital badge.
• Proven hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting production ClickHouse solutions.
• Strong understanding of ClickHouse’s columnar architecture, MergeTree storage engines, data parts, background merges, replication, and distributed query execution.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, aggregations, execution-plan analysis, and query tuning.
• Demonstrated experience designing analytical data models and balancing ingestion throughput, query latency, concurrency, and infrastructure cost.
• Practical experience with streaming or CDC pipelines using Kafka, Debezium, or comparable technologies.
• Experience deploying data platforms on at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure,



or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language for integration, automation, and operational tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, stakeholder communication, and team mentoring skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with both ClickHouse Cloud and self-managed ClickHouse environments.
• Working knowledge of ClickHouse Keeper, cluster operations, upgrades, and deployment automation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience integrating ClickHouse with BI tools, dashboards, APIs, or customer-facing analytics applications.
• Exposure to multi-tenant analytics, event analytics, observability, or time-series workloads.
• Experience evaluating or migrating analytical workloads from other database and data warehouse platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
• Deliver scalable, maintainable ClickHouse architectures aligned with business needs.
• Meet agreed targets for query performance, ingestion freshness, availability, and cost.
• Establish clear engineering standards and strengthen the team’s ClickHouse capabilities.
