Company Description X-IA is the alumni association of École polytechnique focused on events and networking around artificial intelligence. The organization brings together around 1,800 members and has hosted more than 30 high-level events. Its programs feature leading speakers from companies such as Meta, Mistral, Scaleway, and Owkin. X-IA’s events explore a wide range of AI topics, including generative AI, AI agents, robotics, healthcare, insurance, recommendation systems, computer vision, NLP, graph-based methods, and MLOps, offering members rich opportunities for learning and collaboration. Role Description The Director role at X-IA is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Director oversees strategic planning and execution of the association’s AI-focused events and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the needs and interests of the alumni community. This position manages stakeholder relationships, including speakers, corporate partners, alumni, and institutional collaborators, while coordinating event logistics and communication. The Director is responsible for building and leading a local team, monitoring budgets and performance metrics, and reporting on outcomes to the leadership and board.



The role also involves identifying emerging AI topics, fostering partnerships with industry and academia, and enhancing X-IA’s visibility and impact in the AI ecosystem. Qualifications
• Leadership and management skills, including team building, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
• Experience in event management, community building, or professional associations, with strong organizational and coordination abilities.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence domains (e.g., generative AI, NLP, computer vision, MLOps, recommendation systems) and interest in staying current with AI trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to present to senior stakeholders and represent the organization publicly.
• Background in technology, engineering, data science, or business is beneficial; experience with alumni networks or academic institutions is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate with partners, and drive initiatives from concept to delivery.
• Comfort working in office in Mumbai and collaborating across cultures and time zones.
