Global Category Manager – Machined Parts & Outside Processing

About the Role
Milacron is seeking a Global Category Manager, based at our Ahmedabad, India facility, to own sourcing strategy for machined parts and outside processing services (heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, and similar) across our worldwide operations. Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders in North America, Europe, and Asia, you’ll shape a global supply base that delivers the right cost, quality, lead time, and risk profile to support both current-machine builds and our aftermarket service business. This is a high-visibility individual contributor role working across engineering, operations, quality, finance, and commercial teams, with direct influence on margin and customer delivery performance. What You’ll Do
• Set the strategy. Build and execute multi-year global category strategies for machined parts and outside processing, aligned to enterprise cost, growth, and risk objectives.
• Own the global supplier base. Lead supplier identification, qualification, selection, and rationalization across regions; consolidate where it adds leverage, diversify where it reduces risk.
• Negotiate and contract. Drive pricing, terms, and long-term agreements with suppliers worldwide; manage supplier performance and relationships through structured business reviews.
• Manage total cost. Model Total Cost of Ownership — part price, freight, duty, tariffs, inventory,



and quality cost — and use it to drive make/buy and regional sourcing decisions.
• Stay ahead of the market. Monitor commodity and labor cost drivers, tariff changes, capacity constraints, and geopolitical risk across regions; adjust strategy to protect continuity and competitiveness.
• Partner cross-functionally. Work with engineering on design-for-sourcing and specification alignment, with quality on supplier development, and with commercial teams to ensure the supply base supports customer commitments. What You Bring — Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6+ years in sourcing, procurement, or category management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven track record of supplier negotiations, contract development, and measurable cost savings.
• Experience managing global suppliers across multiple regions.
• Fluency in TCO analysis including freight, duty, and tariff impacts.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%. What Sets You Apart — Preferred
• Direct experience sourcing machined components and outside processing services.
• MBA or advanced degree.
• Use of AI or advanced analytics in sourcing, supplier performance, or risk management.
• Working knowledge of lean principles and supplier development.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
