Location:
Kochi, Kerala, India Position Summary The CAD Electrical Draftsman prepares accurate, standards-compliant electrical drawings and documentation from engineers' sketches, specifications, and field data. The role supports the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems for [commercial buildings / industrial plants / power distribution / panel manufacturing], ensuring drawings are clear, coordinated with other disciplines, and ready for construction or fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

- Produce electrical drawings in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical, including single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring and connection diagrams, panel layouts, conduit and cable tray routing, lighting and power plans, grounding and earthing layouts, and control logic diagrams occasionally in BIM depending on requirement in projects
- Convert engineers' markups, sketches, and specifications into detailed CAD drawings
- Making markups for Team members and providing Technical Guidance as required to lead juniors
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs), cable schedules, wire lists, panel schedules, load schedules, and equipment lists
- Maintain drawing accuracy and revision control, and update drawings from field changes to produce as-built documentation
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams to avoid clashes (Revit/BIM coordination where applicable)
- Apply relevant standards and codes such as IEC, NEC/NFPA 70, IEEE, NEMA, BS, or local authority requirements (e.g., DEWA regulations in Dubai)
- Maintain CAD standards, title blocks, symbol libraries, templates, and layer conventions
- Perform quality checks on drawings before issue and support design reviews
- Manage drawing files, transmittals, and document control in line with company procedures
- Support site surveys, field verification, and measurements when required
- Meet project deadlines and flag scheduling or information gaps early Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of electrical drafting experience (adjust for seniority)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical




- Solid understanding of electrical symbols, schematics, power distribution, and control systems
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and drafting standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication in English Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Revit, Autocad
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and PDF markup tools such as Bluebeam
- Experience in industry: MEP, oil and gas, switchgear/panel building, utilities, renewables
- Basic knowledge of lighting design software (DIALux) or load calculation tools
- Certification in AutoCAD or drafting (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, ADDA) Skills and Competencies

The role supports the design of mechanical systems for commercial buildings, industrial plants, HVAC, piping, and equipment layout, ensuring drawings are clear, coordinated with other disciplines, and ready for construction or fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

- Produce mechanical drawings in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Mechanical, including equipment layouts, piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), isometric drawings, HVAC ducting and equipment layouts, sections and details, support and hanger drawings, and occasionally 3D/BIM models depending on project requirements
- Convert engineers markups,



sketches, and specifications into detailed CAD drawings
- Prepare markups for team members and provide technical guidance to junior draftsmen as required
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs), material take-offs, pipe schedules, equipment lists, and valve lists
- Maintain drawing accuracy and revision control, and update drawings from field changes to produce as-built documentation
- Coordinate with electrical, civil, structural, and architectural teams to avoid clashes (Revit/BIM coordination where applicable)
- Apply relevant standards and codes such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, ASME, ANSI, ISO, BS, API, or local authority requirements
