Job Description :

- Execute engineering, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) and SCADA for generation, transmission and distribution substations.
- Configure and integrate IEDs/protection relays, RTUs, AI/DI signals, transducers and auxiliary relay inputs using Siemens SICAM PAS/SCC and related SCADA/HMI platforms.
- Apply IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-101/104 protocols for station/process communication and remote SCADA integration.
- Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet communication networks (Star/Ring topologies), managed switches, SNMP monitoring and GPS/SNTP time synchronization.
- Plan and execute FAT, SAT, signal testing, operation testing and commissioning activities per approved procedures, including extended-duration SAT.
- Manage electrical maintenance, commissioning and project execution for plant electrical systems, including turbine-generators, boilers, HT/LT switchgear and transformers.
- Lead electrical commissioning and synchronization activities for turbine-generators, including generator-grid interface.
- Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of 11 kV/33 kV VCB switchgear, transformers, HT/LT panels and associated protection systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot electrical parameters (voltage, current, frequency, excitation, power factor) via DCS/SCADA systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, project teams and clients for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and closure of site issues.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including test records, I/O lists, communication mappings and commissioning reports.
- Train and supervise electrical subordinates on power/control systems, safety protocols and hazard identification.
- Support preventive,



predictive and breakdown maintenance planning, spare parts inventory and root-cause analysis.

REQUIRED SKILLS & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

- Substation Automation (SAS) & SCADA: Siemens SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC/PAS,
- Protocols: IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-104
- IED / Protection Relay Integration: Siemens, ABB, ALSTOM, Schneider
- RTU, AI/DI signals, transducers, auxiliary relay inputs and signal mapping
- Networking: SNMP, SNTP, GPS time synchronization, Ethernet switches, Star/Ring architecture
- Testing & Commissioning: FAT, SAT, signal testing, operation testing, 1000-hour SAT
- Electrical Systems: HT/LT switchgear, 33 kV/11 kV VCB, transformers, bus ducts, MCC/PCC, APFC panels
- Power Generation: Turbine-generators, grid synchronization, excitation systems, DCS/SCADA monitoring
- Auxiliary Systems: VFDs, UPS, battery chargers, VRLA battery systems
- Project Execution: Site supervision, technical documentation, vendor/client coordination, team handling

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in Substation Automation/SCADA and/or Power Plant Electrical Engineering
- Prior exposure to high-voltage substation projects (up to 765 kV) and/or industrial power plants (turbine-generators, AFBC/RDF/WHRB boilers) preferred
- International site experience (testing & commissioning) is a plus
- Robust communication, documentation and cross-functional coordination skills
