- First-piece approval: after setup, tool change, shift change; check vs drawing and control plan
- Patrol inspection: at control plan frequency; check CTQ/SC dimensions, finish, appearance
- Process monitoring: tool wear, offsets, coolant, fixture, program version, work instruction compliance
- Gauges: use only calibrated gauges; report damaged ones
- Non-conformance: stop line, red-tag and segregate, contain parts since last positive check, inform supervisor and QA
- Records: inspection reports, SPC data, traceability (lot/heat no.)
- Compliance: IATF 16949, customer requirements, audit support, 5S
- Improvement: support 8D, CAPA, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen; help reduce PPM and rejection %
