Role Description The Senior Merchandiser will oversee the end-to-end merchandising process, from product development and sampling through order confirmation, production tracking, and final shipment. This full time, on-site role in Tiruppur involves managing buyer communications, coordinating with production, quality, and logistics teams, and ensuring that styles meet specifications, timelines, and cost targets. The role includes analyzing market and customer requirements, preparing costing and pricing, monitoring order status, and resolving issues that may affect delivery or quality.

Merchandiser will also support client relationship management, participate in vendor and supplier coordination, and contribute to continuous process improvement to meet global brand expectations.

Qualifications

- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to manage buyer interactions, respond to inquiries, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Experience in Sales and Retail, particularly in textiles or apparel, to understand market trends, buyer expectations, and product performance.
- Marketing knowledge to support product positioning, brand standards, and presentation of collections to international clients.
- Proven experience in merchandising or garment export operations, including sampling, costing, production follow-up, and shipment coordination.
- Solid understanding of textile fabrics, garment construction, and quality standards, with exposure to international compliance requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple orders simultaneously, and prioritize tasks under tight timelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and email communication; familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, Apparel Management, Business, or a related field; relevant industry experience in Tiruppur or similar hubs is highly preferred.
